Ipod, simply the best music device available!
Many will critizise Apples latest offering to the music sector - mainly becasue people like doing so. Weve all heard about the battery issue with Ipods, ear volume and the like, but Im hoping to lay the truth down with a couple of these claims.

As a musician, I like to take files around with me as examples of project styles that I like the sound of and wish to emulate, as well as my own recorded styles. The IPOD is a fantastic way of carrying around 15 - 40, yes FORTY GB of information. Thats 10000 songs - Hours of playing time, and genuinely, who has that many songs that they listen to on a regular basis?

The ear volume is perfect, the controls are spot on. You can operate it with a glove, and as for the weight - its like carring around a CD - its THAT light.
The battery lasts for around eight hours+ of playing time, with a simple hour on to charge and youre looking at going strong for another seven hours or so (With three hours taking a full charge). Look on the apple website, there are loads of accessories too, with better earphones (Although the ones that come with it are perfect "All Rounders"

The IPOD itself is a trademark. Thousands of celebrities have them, and I wouldt look back. For me, the difficult decision was between a Mini - disk player and an IPOD - but the thing that decided it for me was the fact that there are no CDs to change, and no interruptions to my music. The IPOD represents the ability to entirely block out the outside world and immerse yourself in 10000 of your favorite tunes.

It beats the competition. You could opt for a slightly cheeper solution - but you pay for what you get. The ipod is solidly built and has taken more than a few knocks off me, and not only that, from the moment you open the packaging, you just get the impression that care has gone into the design of the product - Theyre not after your money, its almost as though they want you to enjoy the experience as much as they did.

Sounds Good, Doesnt Look Good..
Positive +:
1) The storage is amazing and is much cheaper than other models in the iPod range, holds up too about 3650 songs..
2) It is amazingly quick to download songs via Firewire, 50 Songs in about 50 seconds..

Negative -:
1) The design is terrible, it is extremely easy to get scratches and fingerprint marks all over it, with or without a case, I have had it for about a month and its scrathed and fingerprinted already badly, so i hate to think what itll look like after a year..
2) The standard headphones are pathetic, they have good sound quality but are blown very easily by upping the volume a little bit..
3) The battery life is very questionable, Apple say 6 hours but my iPod has barely lasted for 4 and a half, then there is the service charge to replace it after about a year of £100 which needs to be done annually by the way..

Overall:

Unless you are very very desperate to have an iPod inparticular, go for something else, there are many similar mp3 players out there by creative labs etc...In conclusion they look good at the start and are very tempting but it doesnt last for long once youve got a nice scratch accross the screen, carry case or not!

b-e-a-utiful
Ive had it for almost a week now and let me tell you, this device is properly beautiful and so much smaller than when viewing online, being a windows user I was worried about using Musicmatch (the software supplied) as I heard it was terrible but when installing the software I found that it automatically installed iTunes for windows which is extremely easy to use and fantastically quick. The sound quality is fantastic and did I mention it was ridiculously beautiful? The major, major problem with it is that as soon, literally the second you take it out of its box it begans to scratch and, if your like me- slightly crazy about my gadgets having even the tiniest scratch you will go kerazy, it fingerprints way too easily and has so many scratches even having kept it inside my iskin exo2 since it was out the box it has still managed to scratch so be very cautious, but yeh overall I really do love it and I find myself using more than I thought I would. Oh, btw its really pretty :p.
